Residents butcher giant whale in Bayelsa community (Photo)

The people of the Okpoama, a seaside community in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State butchered a giant whale on Wednesday morning, June 19, 2024. 

The whale, measuring about 15 meters long and five meters wide at a height of about three meters, washed up on the beach on Tuesday night. 

The residents used machetes, hacksaws, and axes to cut the animal to pieces. 

An indigene of the area said that the whale was found dead after being out of water throughout the night.
