The Lagos State police command has located a missing car which was abandoned by a driver who got drunk after a night out in the Ikeja axis.
According to the state Police PRO, Ben Hundeyin, the driver forgot where he parked the car which belongs to his boss, so he rather chose to lie that it was stolen.
The man had reportedly dropped his boss off at his home in Magodo on Saturday and drove the car out to chill with friends around Ikeja, but because he drank too much, he could not remember where the car was parked even though he still had the keys in his pocket.
Hundeyin said that police eventually found the vehicle, A Nissan Altima parked at Allen Avenue.
The spokesman wrote; ”Do proper background checks before employing personal and domestic staff.
Officials of Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Monday, August 1, 2022 recovered a 2014 Nissan Altima abandoned by a drunk driver at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos two days before.
The driver abandoned his boss’ vehicle at Allen Avenue after getting drunk on Saturday night. Preliminary investigations reveal that the driver, after dropping off his boss at his residence in Magodo, rather than park the vehicle sneaked out with it to party around Ikeja.
The driver woke up on Sunday morning with the car key in his pocket but could not remember where he had parked the vehicle. The driver said to the Police, ‘After all means to locate the vehicle proved futile, I had no alternative but to lie to my boss that I was robbed and that the vehicle had been driven away.’”
