Yahaya Bello’s wife distributes international canoes to Kogi residents amid flood

Rashida Bello, the wife of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, has distributed canoes to Lokoja residents as a result of flood ravaging the area.

The first lady received several backlash from Nigerians on social media for her donation which they felt was disappointing.

Some pictures of the canoes at the seaside while being prepared to be delivered are already making the rounds online.

Mrs Bello’s name as well as the logo of the All progressives Congress (APC) were boldly pasted on the canoes.

Flood had recently taken over some areas which is denying residents access to some of the major roads in Lokoja, the state capital.

Though the first lady thought it was a kind gesture to help residents, social media users criticised the action.
