PHOTOS: Rescued schoolchildren arrive kaduna government house

Under heavy security, the 137 Kuriga school pupils from Kaduna State who were rescued arrived to Government House on Monday afternoon to meet with State Governor Uba Sani.

Three Coaster and two minibuses conveying schoolchildren from 1 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters in Kaduna arrived to Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House at approximately 2:09 p.m.

Recall that the schoolchildren were abducted on March 7, 2024, at an LEA and Junior Secondary School in Kuriga village, Chikun local government area of the State and were eventually rescued by troops on Sunday morning in an unknown location in Zamfara State where the bandits had held them for 18 days.

Parents of the students and leaders of Kuriga community had earlier trooped to the Government House on Sunday when the news broke out that the abducted children had been freed and were on their way to be reunited with their families. But they were later told to return on Monday to collect their children.
