Ahmed El-Marzuk has stepped down from his role as the National Legal Adviser of the ruling All Progressives Congress
The ruling party chieftain resigned from the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, on Wednesday.
It’s gathered that El-Marzuk was compelled to resign his appointment after losing trust and confidence of some members of the party’s hierarchy.
The orchestrators of his travail stated that he could not longer be in office due to some serious allegations against him.
The 12th National Executive Committee NEC meeting of the party which is currently underway in Abuja is expected to name a replacement.
The development is coming amid a slew of resignations that have rocked the ruling party in recent weeks as it grapple with leadership crisis.
Two weeks ago, the party’s former national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, and its erstwhile national secretary, Iyiola Omisore, resigned their appointment.
