EPL: This is why you’ll never play for Chelsea, bad influence – Jason Cundy slams Ronaldo

Chelsea legend, Jason Cundy has lampooned Cristiano Ronaldo after his early exit down the tunnel in Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat

The iconic Portuguese was dropped for the 2-0 win against Tottenham, angered by Erik ten Hag’s decision, the 37-year-old made his way back to the dressing room before full-time.

Cameras spotted the former Real Madrid and Juventus star trudging down the tunnel late on in the game.

Manchester United’s goals came through the boots of Fred and Bruno Fernandes and Cundy labelled the Portugal international as a ‘disgrace’.

“It’s all for show. That’s why I wouldn’t take Ronaldo [at Chelsea]. The baggage,” he told talkSPORT.

“He is a brilliant footballer and he will score goals but that’s the reason.

“[Erik] Ten Hag still has a problem with him, and January can’t come quick enough for Ten Hag to move him on. He wants to move on, there’s petulance.

“And what does that do to other players? No doubt…the petulance shown like that in public that’s not on, that’s not fair.

“Imagine if you’re a young player looking up to Ronaldo and he does that?

“For Ronaldo to do that during the game, it’s slapping Ten Hag round the face.”
