Nigerian singer Davido compares the democratic systems of the US and Nigeria, expressing his admiration for American democracy.
Davido said this during an interview on The Morning Hustle show, where he discussed his participation in the recent U.S. presidential election.
The 32-year-old singer who holds dual citizenship with the United States and Nigeria, revealed he voted for Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party. He said that his choice was driven by a desire to witness the United States elect its first female president within his lifetime.
Despite Donald Trump winning the election, Davido commended the seamless process, saying;
“What I like about America is that there is true democracy. Where I come from [Nigeria], it’s not so. The truth is people voted for him. I voted for Kamala. People voted, so whatever happens, happens.”
