Boko Haram Invades Military Base, Injure Three Soldiers In Yobe

Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly invaded a military base in Katarko village in Gujba LGA of Yobe state.

According to sources, the insurgents drove into Katarko village in about 10 gun trucks and attacked the military formation.

The sources added that Boko Haram insurgents engaged the security operatives at the base in a gun duel.

The troops of the Nigerian Army, who repelled the attack, alongside airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), were said to have killed many of the insurgents.

However, a precise number of fatalities had not been ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

Three soldiers were also said to have been injured in the attack.

“Two-3 soldiers were injured and have been taken to hospital in Damaturu for treatment,” the source said.

“Many Boko Haram members are also feared dead. They were struck by foot soldiers and air support.”

The community has witnessed several attacks by the insurgents in the last few years.
