Bode George Urges Tinubu to Cut Fuel Price to ₦300 for Christmas

Bode George calls on President Tinubu to reduce fuel prices to ₦300 per liter during the festive season, amid concerns over high fuel costs and subsidy transparency.

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has called on President Bola Tinubu to reduce the price of petrol to ₦300 per litre to ease the burden on Nigerians during the festive season.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, George said such a reduction would bring relief and happiness to Nigerians. “December and January are critical months. Reducing petrol prices temporarily would send a message of goodwill and provide much-needed respite,” he stated.

He urged the government to absorb the financial losses, adding that the gesture would lower costs and foster unity. “If the First Lady can donate ₦1 billion to a university, why not reduce fuel prices to make life easier for the people?” he said.

Addressing the state of the PDP, George expressed optimism that the party would resolve its internal crises before the 2027 elections. He criticised individual ambitions undermining the party’s principles of zoning and rotation.

“Our party is rooted in justice and fairness. No one’s ambition should overshadow the collective vision of the PDP,” he said.

George assured that despite challenges, the PDP would emerge stronger, committed to its ideals of equity and unity.
