Wrestling Legend Sabu Dead at 60 Weeks After Retirement Fight

Sabu

Wrestling icon Sabu has died at the age of 60, just three weeks after participating in his retirement match, according to a statement released by All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

The organization paid tribute to the legendary performer, praising his unforgettable high-risk style and unwavering dedication to the sport. AEW extended its condolences to Sabu’s family and friends, though no cause of death was disclosed.

Born Terry Brunk, Sabu began his wrestling journey in the mid-1980s under the guidance of his uncle, Edward “The Sheik” Farhat. He rose to prominence in 1991 through his work with Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, where his brutal in-ring style earned him both acclaim and the battle scars that became part of his legend. Although some speculated that his scars were self-inflicted, those close to him insisted they were the result of his participation in extreme wrestling matches.
