A metro train reportedly struck and killed a woman identified as Salamatu Ahmad at the Bukuru Terminal Station in Plateau State.
It was gathered that the fatal incident happened on Friday morning at the busy terminal.
The deceased was reportedly hit by the train while attempting to board the moving train. She died on the spot.
According to Bukuru TV Radio Station, which confirmed the development, the tragic incident occurred as the train was either entering or leaving the station, when Salamatu Ahmad reportedly attempted to board it.
An eyewitness, Nasiru Alhaji Baba Tsoro, said, “The incident happened while the train was already in motion as the deceased attempted to enter it. She was hit by the train and died on the spot.”
However, security personnel and emergency responders were said to have arrived at the scene shortly after the incident.
Authorities subsequently secured the area and commenced preliminary investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
