Nigerian musician, Peter Okoye also known as Mr P, has advocated for the creation of a Grammy award show in Africa.
The member of Psquare music group said that he is not happy about the segmentation of the continent into ‘Africa category’ at Grammy and BET awards.
Mr P said noted that there is no international award show where an American or Asian category was created, so why it is different for Africa.
According to the Alingo crooner, he is irritated by the fact that the world still does not rate the continent well enough to be included in the general category.
He explained that at the time Psquare was one of the top artistes in the Nigerian music industry, it was happening, but they did not complain.
He expressed disappointment that it is still being done even now that African genres like Afrobeats and Amapiano are global sounds
