“War With Israel Caused ‘Serious Damage’ to Our Nuclear Sites” – Iran Laments

Iran has said that its nuclear facilities have suffered ‘serious damage’ during the 12-day conflict with Israel, as authorities begin assessing the extent of the destruction.

Speaking on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the damage as “serious” and said experts from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran have commenced detailed evaluations of the affected sites.

“A detailed assessment of the damage is being carried out by experts from the Atomic Energy Organization (of Iran),” Araghchi told state television.

He added that seeking compensation for the destruction is now a key priority on the country’s diplomatic agenda.

Now, the discussion of demanding damages and the necessity of providing them has been placed as one of the important issues on the country’s diplomatic agenda,” he stated.

Araghchi stressed that technical investigations and political consultations are ongoing simultaneously, as Iran weighs its response.

These damages are serious, and expert studies and political decision-making are underway at the same time,” he added.

The 12-day war, which erupted after Israel’s June 13 strike targeting Iranian nuclear and missile sites, drew global concern and led to heavy bombardments from both sides.

U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that the air strikes launched by American forces in support of Israel had “obliterated” key Iranian nuclear facilities.

Iran has not yet provided a complete breakdown of the affected sites or the full extent of the damage but insists that assessments are underway.
