National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has has said phone numbers of Nigerians were disconnected from the national electricity grid by government.
The presidential hopeful stated this on Sunday at Onikan Stadium while decrying the nation’s moribund power infrastructure, Peoples Gazette reports.
“And yet we started disconnecting from NIPP our phone numbers,” Tinubu said in what seems to be a mix up of power and phone infrastructure.
NIPP is the National Independent Power Project, launched by the federal government to liberalise power generation into the national grid.
It may be recalled that Ministry of Communications disconnected millions of phone lines over claims that they weren’t linked to the National Identity database.
