Tinubu Condemns Borno Suicide Attack, Plateau Lynching, and Mourns Kano Explosion Victims

President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, as well as the lynching of 12 wedding guests travelling from Zaria in Kaduna State to Jos, the capital of Plateau State.

In a statement signed by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed his sorrow over the suicide bombing that took place at a food establishment in Konduga on Friday, June 20. He described the attack as cowardly and mourned the loss of life. The president urged security agencies to intensify their efforts in eradicating the remnants of Boko Haram insurgents, who often target soft locations as a diversionary tactic.

Additionally, President Tinubu extended his condolences to the government and people of Borno State, instructing the National Emergency Management Agency to assist survivors of the attack.

The President also expressed sympathy for the families of those affected by an explosion at a scrap metal factory in Kano on Saturday morning, which injured 15 people and resulted in five fatalities.

Furthermore, President Tinubu condemned the killing of travellers in Plateau State and urged security forces to ensure that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.

In response to the murder of 12 wedding guests, including the father and brother of the groom, the President, in another statement from Bayo Onanuga, described the act as unacceptable and barbaric. The victims were traveling from Zaria in Kaduna State to Jos in Plateau State.

President Tinubu directed the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to collaborate with other security and intelligence agencies to ensure that those responsible for the attacks are held accountable. He called for calm and promised that these heinous acts would not go unpunished.
