Nigerian Dancehall and Afrobeat star, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy has said the blockbuster fictional series ‘Squid Games’ mirrors a sad reality.
Squid Game is a South Korean fictional drama which involves adult contestants who are deeply in debt, playing children’s games in order to win huge sum of money.
The downsides however are, once you are in the game, quitting has deadly consequences and losers end up getting killed by the game makers.
Speaking on the game and how it relates to real life, Burna Boy said that it shows the reality of how people don’t really care about each other once their survival is at stake.
The Grammy-winner who stated this via his Instagram story, noted that such a reality as portrayed in the TV series, breaks his heart.
He wrote; ”Squid Games is actually the reality of how No one really Truly Loves Anyone when it comes down to Survival. A reality that Breaks my heart.”
