[Sport] Leicester City 0-2 Man City: De Bruyne shines again as the Cityzens tame the Foxes

Man City produced a dominant display to exact revenge on Leicester as they took another move towards the Premier League title.

Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus both scored as Pep Guardiola’s side produced a dominant display to exact revenge on the Foxes, with starman Kevin De Bruyne playing a big role in both goals.

Pep Guardiola’s free-scoring side was heading for a disappointing draw in their first match since confirming club-record scorer Sergio Aguero will be leaving at the end of the season before Benjamin Mendy broke the deadlock.

A goal by Fernandinho was disallowed, a free-kick by Kevin de Bruyne hit the crossbar, and a save by Kasper Schmeichel denied Riyad Mahrez against his former club.

After stepping inside a challenge from Marc Albrighton, France defender Mendy produced a lovely curling finish, before Gabriel Jesus sealed the points for the visitors from close range.

On the stroke of half-time, Leicester thought they had taken the lead through Jamie Vardy, but his celebrations were cut short by an offside flag.

After moving to 74 points with seven games remaining, City are 17 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United, who host Brighton on Sunday.

To win the title, Guardiola’s team needs 11 points.
