Real Madrid do not want Gareth Bale to return for the 2021-22 season, according to sources.
Last September, the Wales international was granted permission to return to Tottenham Hotspur on loan, where he has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 25 appearances.
The 31-year-old recently stated that once his loan contract with Jose Mourinho’s side expires, he plans to return to the Bernabeu.
Bale’s lawyer, Jonathan Barnett, has since stated that it is “too early” to speculate on where the Welshman will play next season.
According to Marca, the former Southampton youngster is not in Real Madrid’s plans for next season, with the Spanish champions keen to offload him in the summer transfer window.
According to the paper, Los Blancos will be willing to let Bale leave for free this summer in order to keep his big salary off the books.
The contract of the four-time Champions League winner at Real Madrid is set to expire in June 2022.
