According to BBC Sport, over 100 players/club staff have been forced to self-isolate after tests were done on 66 clubs across the English FA league divisions.
News out of England says the latest round of Covid-19 testing has resulted in an alarming spread.
“More than 100 positive Covid-19 cases have been recorded after tests were carried out on players and other staff at 66 English Football League clubs,” said the report.
“A total of 112 individuals received positive results from 3,507 players and club staff tested this week.
“Clubs playing in the FA Cup third round were all tested, plus a number of others.
“Six more will be tested before their next league fixtures, with twice-weekly testing also starting next week,” the BBC concluded.
