Leicester City midfield powerhouse, Wilfred Ndidi, has said that comparisons with Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante “irritates” him.
The Super Eagles star has become one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League since he moved from Genk over four years ago.
Ndidi signed for Leicester City five months after Kante left for Chelsea in July 2016.
“The comparison used to irritate me, but it’s football. I completely understand the fans because they love to find something to talk about.
“Even before I arrived at Leicester, I heard it. I only wanted to be Wilfred Ndidi and not someone else.
“I focus on myself, I am always critical of myself. I do my best to improve as a footballer game by game and give my best for my club.
“The comparison with others, about who is better or if Kante and I play alike, is irrelevant to me,” Ndidi told BBC Sport Africa.
Ndidi, 24, has three assists and one goal to his name in the Premier League in this campaign
