Laliga giants FC Barcelona have tabled a pre-contract offer for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
Barcelona has been in the market for a striker after failing to replace Luis Suarez in the summer and according to TyC Sports, Barca have turned their attention to the Argentine whose contract with City ends on June 30.
There have been reports earlier in the week that Aguero is willing to take a pay cut in order to reunite with Lionel Messi and despite the latter’s situation yet to be solved, the presence of new president Joan Laporta is expected to be a huge determinant on where he will be next season.
Due to injuries and Covid restrictions, Aguero has had just 331 minutes split across 11 games, and even though he is now fit, he was not given any time in the Manchester derby-with City falling to a 2-0 defeat.
Barca had been linked with a move for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez before but his fee is said to be a major factor in the deal with the Spanish giants not willing to spend much money owing to the financial bite brought about by the effect of Covid.
