Brazil legend, Ronaldo Nazario has disclosed the footballer he wants to win this year’s Ballon d’Or between Argentina captain, Lionel Messi and Norway’s Erling Haaland.
Messi, Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe are among the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
Ahead of the much anticipated announcement of the winner for the 2023 Ballon d’Or which will be done next week, Ronaldo had a chat where he said he wants Messi to win
He explaind that Messi deserves to win the award “without any doubt” after guiding the Argentina national team to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
According to TNT Sports, Ronaldo said; “The Ballon d’Or should go to him [Lionel Messi], without a doubt. What Messi did in the World Cup was special. It reminded me of the campaigns of Pelé and Maradona.”
Apart from winning the World Cup, Messi also clinched the French Super Cup and Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain.
