Queen’s death: Arsenal, PSV Europa league group stage match to go ahead

PSV Eindhoven have said that their Europa League encounter with Arsenal next Thursday will take place.

Recall that all top-flight, EFL, WSL and even grassroots football were cancelled over the weekend in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

But all seven Premier League clubs involved in European fixtures in midweek are set to play their matches.

PSV issued a terse statement today confirming that the game will be played.

“Arsenal vs PSV update: the match will be played in London with supporters,” a tweet on the club’s official Twitter page read, with more information to come on Sunday.

The Met Police informed Arsenal on Friday that they were ‘comfortable’ with the match against PSV at the Emirates Stadium and official confirmation from the north London club is expected on Sunday.
