Plateau State University, Bokkos, has taken significant disciplinary action by rusticating 43 students involved in examination malpractices and other fraudulent activities.
This decision emerged from the 88th meeting of the university Senate, chaired by Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Shedrack Best.
In a statement issued by Professor Moses Pyefa, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, it was revealed that the Senate’s meeting focused on a range of academic and administrative issues aimed at bolstering the institution’s standards.
The rustication of these students underscores the university’s commitment to maintaining academic integrity.
– Disciplinary Actions: The Senate approved the recommendations of the examinations disciplinary committee, resulting in the rustication of 43 students for various examination-related offenses.
The meeting also highlighted the university’s recent accomplishments, including a partnership with Michigan State University and a tree planting campaign in collaboration with Bethany Christian Academy. Additionally, a modified second-semester timetable was adopted to improve academic continuity and timely assessment.
The Plateau State Government’s efforts to enhance the university’s infrastructure, particularly through road improvements, were also commended.
