“Tinubu’s Gov’t Faces Criticism

Abuja, August 6, 2025 — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is under renewed fire as widespread blackouts continue to plague Nigerians despite the government’s bold promise of uninterrupted electricity by 2027.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, recently reaffirmed the government’s “irreversible mission” to deliver 24/7 electricity. However, frustrated citizens and energy experts remain skeptical, citing repeated national grid collapses and outdated infrastructure.
“We keep hearing promises, but our reality is darkness,” said Musa Lawal, a Lagos-based welder whose workshop has been idle for days.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has yet to release a clear roadmap on achieving stable power. Critics argue that without urgent reforms, Nigeria’s economic progress will remain stifled.
