Niger Republic Deports 148 Nigerians

Nigeria receives 148 deported citizens, including infants, from Niger Republic, amid growing concerns about national pride and global respect.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Lagos Territorial Office, in collaboration with key stakeholders, has received 148 Nigerian returnees from the Niger Republic.

The return, facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Mission in Niger, took place on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

The group, which included 120 adult males, nine adult females, 10 male children, seven female children, and two infants, arrived at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 2:15 PM aboard a Skymali flight.

After a brief delay due to heavy rain, the returnees were transported for biometric registration and documentation.

Stakeholders present included officials from the Nigerian Immigration Service, NCFRMI, IOM, and FAAN.
