N6 Billion Remitted to Nigerian Government by JAMB in 2024

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed a remittance of over N6 billion to the Federal government’s treasury in 2024.

In its weekly bulletin released on Monday, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board’s Public Communication Advisor, confirmed that JAMB generated a total revenue of N22.99 billion in 2024. Out of this, N6.03 billion was officially transferred to the government.

The board noted that the reduction of N1,500 in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) form fees significantly boosted its effective remittance.

This reduction, multiplied by the number of candidates benefiting from the policy, increased the total remittance to N9.01 billion.

JAMB further highlighted its consistent contributions to national development. Over the past seven years, the board has contributed more than N50 billion to the national treasury under the leadership of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.

Reflecting on its financial performance, the board stated: “In 2024, we generated N22.99 billion and remitted N6.03 billion to the government.

When the N1,500 fee reduction for candidates is factored in, the effective remittance increases to N9.01 billion.”
