A man has been caught and publicly shamed after he tried to buy a new iPhone 13 with counterfeit currency.
According to reports, the suspect visited Circle Mall in Ghana and used counterfeit Ghana Cedis to pay for the expensive phone but he was nabbed before he had the chance to leave with the device.
In a video posted online, the man was being flogged as a crowd gathered and people were recording him.
He was pleading for leniency but it all fell on deaf ears, however the store owner where he tried buying the phone was said to have alerted the police.
The suspect was made to sit down on the floor and hold the fake notes in his hand while displaying it for everyone to see.
