Hamdiyyah Sharif, a critic of Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has been reported missing.
Her lawyer, Abba Hikima, made the announcement on Wednesday via his official Facebook page, stating that Hamdiyyah has not been seen since 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to Hikima, she left her home in Sokoto to purchase food items but never returned.
“Hamdiyyah has been missing since 10:00 a.m. yesterday,” he wrote. “She left home to buy foodstuff in Sokoto and has not been seen since.”
He added that the incident has been reported to the Sokoto State Police Command, which is expected to begin an investigation into the matter.
As of the time of this report, no further details have been released regarding the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
