The Ex Manchester Utd star, Rio Ferdinand has said the club shouldn’t even entertain the idea of allowing the top striker do leave the club at right now.
Rio Ferdinand, who played alongside Ronaldo during his first stint at Old Trafford, believes the Red Devils must do anything to keep the wantaway forward.
According to him, the team United will find it difficult to replace the 37-year-old with someone who has scoring ability as much as he does if he leaves.
While responding on his Vibe with Five podcast, Ferdinand was asked whether or not he would have started Ronaldo against Brighton, he said: “For a player, the worst thing for you to do is sit on the bench and come on in a game.
“You start him, tell him “you’re going to play 45 and do what you do”. He would’ve [had 45 minutes in him].
“He has enough experience, in fact enough to pace himself through any game. You’ve got to trust these guys.”
Ferdinand then argued: “Man United are not going to let him go right now. Where will they to find 24 goals if Ronaldo leaves?
“Don’t have the conversation, ain’t not going anywhere.”
