First Lady Warns Market Women

The First Lady has appealed to market women to maintain fair and affordable prices during the festive season, urging them to avoid price hikes and exploitation.”

The wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged market women in Ebonyi State not to increase the prices of food items as the festive season approaches.

Speaking at the 2024 Women’s Day Celebration in Abakaliki, she thanked the state governor, Francis Nwifuru, for his support of women in leadership roles and interventions.

Tinubu also inaugurated a 3.1-kilometer runway at the Wilberforce Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Onueke, emphasizing the potential for increased socio-economic development.

During her visit, she met with traditional rulers, praising the state’s peaceful nature and the governor’s commitment to empowering women, including appointing a female deputy governor and offering business grants.

Additionally, she announced a donation of N50 million and support items to assist women’s businesses in the state.
