Federal University Kashere has recently announced a significant increase in school fees, causing a stir among students, parents, and the general public.
The school fees have been hiked from the current, ranging from N27,000 to N107,000 representing an increment of over 300 percent.
According to a new school fees chart the N107,000 fee is applicable to Returning students although a particular amount to be paid by New students haven’t been disclosed yet.
However, it is not clear whether the current Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Alhaji Umaru Pate approved or is aware of the new fees increment after similar consultations with the students, parents, and stakeholders.
Before the increase returning students pay around 27,000 to 35,000 per session depending on Faculty and preferred program.

Despite President Bola Tinubu’s directive that Nigerian public universities should desist from increasing the fees payable by students arbitrarily, the management of Federal University Kashere, Gombe State, Allegedly/ Reportedly announced the increment of fees payable by students.
“President Tinubu has directed the authorities in all Federal Institutions of higher learning to avoid arbitrary increase in sundry fees payable, and where possible defer further increases, so that parents and students don’t face too many difficulties,” the government posted on Twitter (now X) microblogging platform.
