Abductions, killings will linger if Nigerians don’t support security forces – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has warned that a lack of support for the Nigerian Armed Forces will cause insecurity to linger in the country.

Daily Trust reports that Buhari stated this at an iftar dinner with members of the business community and the leadership of politics on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

The president said without the cooperation of the masses, it will take the Armed Forces a longer period to end the kidnappings and killings across the country.

Buhari further urged all political parties to set aside election-related matters and focus on working with his administration to find a lasting solution to the menace bedevilling the nation.

He said: “Our country must be kept safe for progress and prosperity to be entrenched.

‘I look forward to seeing the reflection of this spirit in the relationship between the parties and the government, especially as the electioneering season will soon be on us.”
