Fellow Nigerians the Family of Akabe Christopher Danjuma regrets to announce the sudden death of their Daughter; Patience Akabe who died after she was knocked down from a motor bike by a Member of the Nigeria Police Force in Lafia, behind Ta Al Conference Hall Nassarawa State on 21st October 2024.

She was a mother of 3 children, and also the breadwinner of her Family.

The Police officer who was on top speed in a Police Hilux, not minding a junction with people, ran into a motor bike, carrying the owner, my sister and her a year and 3 months old son, who were coming from the other side of the road.

The bike man and my sister sustained serious injuries, he got his toes and arms broken (I don’t have details on the other death victim whose looked more serious)

The unfortunate thing was that, the Police officer did not rush them to the hospital immediately, not until people intervened, before he took them to a Specialist hospital in Lafia.

In the process of examining her, in less than 20-25 mins she gave up (Died). 😭😭😭 (It was obvious she had internal bleeding🩸) because she was not properly checked.

Information got to us the next day that the bike man also died, making a total number of 3 people who were killed by this Police Officer. 😭😭😭😭

The baby, who is the only survivor is battling with his health due to a fracture of his femur (thighbone) he sustained. He is currently undergoing series of checks and Examinations.

Furthermore, on 23rd October 2024, a delegate of two DPOs from the Commissioner of Police visited the resident where my sister lived before her death in Lafia, to see her in-laws, and they sent her Father Inlaw to give us 100,000, which we refused to accept.

THE FAMILY’S CONCERN ARE:

1. This accident happened on the 21st of October 2024, and the Commissioner of Police sent delegates, 2 DPOs to her in-law’s house, ignoring the fact that she has a Family, biological parents and siblings who were not contacted or visited to show their concern, meanwhile, my elder brother was in the same resident but was not spoken to.

2. My question is, why haven’t they called or visited us to show their concern?

3. Why haven’t the Police officer who killed them show himself up to the Family?

4. We know nothing can bring our sister back to life, but we are pained, and grieved in this tragic moment that a Senior Police Officer of the Nigeria Police Force who knows the Law did not do the right thing, but is showing power.

5. Why is the Nigerian Police quiet? Is this how they Operate?

6. The Police officer should be investigated and face the Law.

Important Information got to us that the Police officer in question, brought them to the hospital and:

  a. It was confirmed that the Police Hilux car is from the Government House and also, some officials from the Government House came to the hospital same day to visit.

b. It was also confirmed that the Hilux was badly Damaged due to the impact of the accident.

c. The Nurse on duty confirmed he received them, and that he was attending to her when she died.

d. The Policeman on duty at the Hospital, is Inspector Adamu from Lafia Central Division, the names of the security on duty  are Muhamed Sarki Baba.

We plead for justice for our beloved sister who was buried today, Friday the 25th October 2024, the 2 others who died and her baby who is currently battling with his life. They are human beings and they also have a Family too.

They said Police is your Friend, where is the Friendship if my family can be neglected after a Policeman Killed our daughter and sister and the person cannot be shown to us?

The Akabe Family.
