Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with 1999 Nigerian former governors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the country’s capital.
The meeting, held on July 25, 2025, marked a symbolic reunion of leaders who played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s transition to democracy in the Fourth Republic.
The meeting focused on national unity, good governance, and ways the former governors could contribute to Nigeria’s democratic consolidation and development.
Among the notable governors who attended the meeting are Chief Lucky Igbinedion, former Governor of Edo State, and James Ibori, former Governor of Delta State, along with other prominent dignitaries.
