Students who were protesting against the lingering ASUU strike in Akure were reportedly dispersed by men of the Nigerian Army on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, May 17 students from three universities in Ondo state barricaded the Ilesha/Akure expressway to protest their forced stay at home owing to strike action.
According to viral reports, soldiers came to the protest scene and fired gunshots into the air to disperse the protesting students.
Videos circulating on social media shows students scampering for safety as the soldiers fire gunshots to frighten them away from the road.
